COFFEE CAKE

2 Cakes of yeast (which is essentially 2 of the little packets of dry yeast, non bread machine variety)
1/2 cup sugar
2 heaping tablespoons crisco or snowdrift
1 teaspoon of salt
3 eggs
1 pint lukewarm water
Crushed pecans
Raisins
Cinnamon

(Add just enough sifted flour to make dough easy to handle)
Mix well
Put in greased bowl
Let rise until double in size (about 3-4 hours)
Divide into four parts
Roll each out to 1/2 inch thick
Brush with melted butter
Put raisins and nuts on top
Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top to taste

VERY IMPORTANT
Roll edge into itself (like a burrito)
Put onto a greased pan
Brush with more butter and let rise for 2 hours

Great Grandma never said how long to bake or at what temp.
Try 350 degrees F and 15-45 minutes (just watch it and make sure it doesn’t burn)
