[EDIT: I have occassionally given DivX Pro for Windows/Mac Serials *DIRECTLY* from Steven at DivX. I always Give them away. But, it’s infrequent. See my new post on how to bag one for yourself…]
The friend of the gWHIZ blog who gives the best reason (in comments) for needing a serial number for the PRO version of DivX… gets it. Let’s put a Sunday night deadline on this deal. No sense dragging it out. Please, no URLs within your comments or they’ll be snarled up in Akismet’s moderation bucket longer than necessary.
One of our new friends at DivX offered us two. Am using one and offering the next one up as a freebie. Pass word along (feel free to use permalink) and if you haven’t tried it… DivX is pretty danged hot and so is their Stage6 video sharing site! I’m anxious to try out the encoding and see how it compares to Apple’s Compressor.

An update to those visiting and hoping for a serial number or wanting to know a little more of what’s going on here… I have a good relationship with the marketing folks at DivX and they have been nice enough these past two years to occassionally (several times per year) to give the gWHIZ blog Mac and Windows serials. Yes, they’re legitimate. They have NOT been registered before. NO, they’re not trial serials. These are PRO serials.
I’ve blocked many, many comments in this thread which tried to circulate serial numbers I presume were not gained directly from DivX for pass-along. ie, not legally distributed. I just won’t be party to that.
I LOVE Divx and Stage 6 because of the quality of the codec, but increasingly because of the people in the company. They answer emails promptly. They appreciate their customers and contribute directly to the online video community.

I am a 54 yr old male that has been recovering from an explosion at work for the last 2 yrs and have been slowly able to do more things on computer gradually.It has been a long go of it for me as is very hard to think properly and multi-task.I am now just downloading movies to watch but my Divx has expired and because my worker’s compensation has put me in an appeal process so I no longer have an income,(That is another story of which I won’t burden you with),making it so I can’t afford to pay right now for the serial or I would.I came across this posting and I would very much appreciate getting a Divx serial somehow so I can continue to watch great Divx movies on my computer.Thanx for your time…Terry

Hi there, Just another bleeding heart here, lol. Just wondering if there was a serial number for DivX Converter (MAC) lying around? I just received the Zen by creative, however I can’t use their software (PC only) and I just can’t justify spending even more money on this. Was trying to decide between Xilisoft Video Converter and this, but just too much money right now.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Will it be possible to get the serial # for DIVX Author 1.5? My wife’s cousin recently passed away, and I need a software that will allow me to make a DVD of her cousin’s last moments (which we got on video). I’ve tried so many other softwares, but it wouldn’t allow me to do it, plus it seems as if I lose quality. I’ve tried the trail version and it comes out great. Like a lesson in greed; I find myself wanting things I did not know I needed. Getting increasingly frustrated about my inability to share a video I made, looks like I need DivX. The content of my film? Me digging and shovelling with a measuring stick next to a pile of dirt, aiming to reach the mark that says “monument”, a futile exercise in sustainability, as the heap keeps on crumbling at about the same rate that I accumulate dirt/ soil. Dunno if this might put me in the slot for a serial #, but hey it´s worth a chance, and anyway I made my first blog comment ever.
