POLL: Grocery Coupons? Yes? No?

Met with VC last week. Among other things they were curious to know how many people use coupons at the grocery checkout. So, how about it? Do you? If not, why not? (A few leading suppositions… inconvenience, time, not worthwhile…) If so, source? Newspaper, online?

Your answers will help GROCIO get its seed round of funding. So, my thanks to you in advance.

Sounds like a trick question. Still, I’ll play along… Gee, I don’t know, why DO grocery stores “lie” when they advert bogo specials?

I’ve never had a problem short of out of stock items and then only on rare occasion.

  3. I am a firm believer in grocery coupon shopping. So are the other 11K HCWers out there, My annual savings over retail are upwards of $10K every year for the last 5 years. Those little .25c coupons ad up quickly. The real trick is to not just redeem one coupon, but several for the same item. Kind of like the stock market – buy low and lots of it, and don’t jump in when the market’s high. So if BBQ sauce is cheap or free in the summer, by enough of it so you don’t have to pay full price in the winter when it’s off sale.
