Now, you may be asking yourself… “Why in God’s name did you just spoil all my fun!?” And, if you’re Steve Jobs… I guess I’m just going to shrug and point my finger at Steve Rubel 🙂 But, if you’re, Oh… I dunno… Daniel Brusilovsky, I’m gonna say… you’ve read this far and I didn’t make you do that. Besides, YOU’RE AT MACWORLD and I’m not! Nah, TakeBacks… If you’re Steve Jobs I’m high fiving you for ginning up EVEN MORE fever pitch for your stage time. Killer move. FTW.

    Wildly disappointing )-:

All those goddamned rumors of a super-portable at 10″, I was so excited. I would pay $4,000 or more for a Mac like that. I could carry it in my jacket! Well, fuck…

  2. Woke up with a bit of Potty Mouth today?

  3. Checkspecs Says:

Check the specs of the new Mac Pro in that description – they’re incorrect, and list all the old graphics cards. The 7300 and Quadra 4500 aren’t in the new Mac Pro lineup, and the base model isn’t 2×2.8GHz dual core, it’s 1×2.8GHz Quad core. The base model drive is the wrong size, and the top model drives are also the wrong size. The base model RAM is lower than the real thing, and the top model RAM is also lower than the real thing. The base model price is also incorrect.

The mac pro section is definitely incorrect, about the only thing correct is the use of up to 3.2GHz Quad Cores, which is the only thing an educated person could guess correctly as going in them, due to them being the only available options. Given the huge mistakes there, my guess is this is a fabrication.

  4. Mark Says:

It all seems feasible and typically anti-climactic for recent MacWorld expos, save for one thing; I’m not seeing anything in that run-down which corresponds to “there’s something in the air”. Maybe I missed it but none of that stuff is “in the air”.

Also, as has already been pointed out, the Mac Pro update has happened already and the specs don’t match.

Finally, the iPhone SDK has already been announced as being available in February, so why would SJ devote a section of his keynote – which is designed to be aimed at consumers – to what is essentially a WWDC-esque presentation?

Oh, one more thing (sorry, no pun intended!). At the risk of getting all “Back to the Future” on you, it can’t be real ‘cos there’s no jokey mention of the keynote being leaked beforehand 🙂
