Rearden Commerce Portal: Travel, Tickets, Dining, Etc.

I had the good fortune to meet with Alex Eaton, CEO of World Travel this morning. Compared notes about things over coffee and this fellow is cool, cool, cool! He’s up on RSS, the gadget scene. Like him a lot and think he’s an early barometric gauge of future CEOs of America: sharp as tacks on technology and “how to” (or at the very least the possibilities).

We chatted about online travel, personal tech, adoption of gadgetry in our households/families. And a neat tidbit that came out of that was the idea of a digital personal concierge. He’s in the travel biz (and doing just fine thank you) and keeps up with the comings and goings in the space. Seems Rearden Commerce has created a portal for making travel arrangements (personal or business tailored to workplace policy even) but also all the attendant things too like dinner reservations, tickets to events, shipping and conferencing. How long will it be before Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz and the like figure out there’s a lot more we need in our lives? A little more integration like Rearden’s into my personal life would be ok by me.
